First hands-on Snapkeys keyless keyboard ,Okay, we admit, we were taken in by the video on Snapkey's web site showing the keyboard in action before its inner workings were revealed at CTIA 2011. The system is actually fairly basic: you can find four boxes to tap for letters -- plus backspace and space -- and each and every represents a kind of letter. The C905 has a range of new partner, Sony Ericsson C903, which comes with a 5 megapixel sensor. Focusing on those that do not require as much resolution as a camera but want a phone that shines in this aspect.

It incorporates the same features as its big brother in the software of the camera, including face detection, supporting up to three at the same time, detection of smiles and BestPic, which can take up to nine successive pictures and choose the most we like.

The Sony Ericsson C903 is a quad phone with 3G connectivity, compatible with HSDPA, which has a 2.4 inch screen with resolution of 320 × 240 pixels. Thanks to the accelerometer that automatically rotates to rotate, and if we are small, have a television outlet with which to view the images larger.

Google’sstock today in the 24 hours is down by 0.2 - 0.5%, as Google announces delay of it’s key mobile platform - Android. Google, in my humble opinion, overvalued the press release earlier this year on Android, and didn’t understand all the handset requirements and communications with operators involved in the process, and the whole project got delayed. The platform is to be launched in early 2009.
I am very impressed by the Google Android platform, and seeing it function two weeks ago on videos was fantastic, and I was extremelyimpressed. I believe Google can make a hole in the ground with this, that will leave a much more significant mark on the platform side then the iPhone, but after Nokiaannounced today, that it’s buying out Symbianand taking it open source (by the way Nokiastock raised by 0.9% today, getting to a record high in a couple of weeks). I am looking forward to both seeing Android on a realhandset, and as well as seeing Symbianopen source, as that can take it to a completelydifferent level.
How will taking Symbianopen source affect the market? Well as far as I know Symbianhas a heavy majority of the smartphonemarket, especially in Europe, where in many markets even 20 - 25% of handsets are Symbian(total handsets, not of smartphones). This is a big market, and Nokiarealises the potential of this group growing. Also seeing the new vision of the Nokiadevices controlledby hand, I see no real advantages in the iPhone.

Nearly 48 percent of the mobile app developers surveyed by Boston-based Skyhook Wireless said that location is what “sets their app apart, or is a core component to their app.” And nearly 46 percent said location increases the value of an app — and that they wouldn’t have developed an app without it.
When asked if they would re-write their applications for a platform other than the one they currently support, nearly 56 percent said yes. Google’s Android ranks highest in terms of interest — a whopping 58 percent of non-Android developers plan to port to that platform, while 40 percent of non-iPhone developers plan to port an app to the iPhone platform. In comparison, 26 percent will port to RIM and 20 percent to Windows Mobile. When it comes to the platforms of Palm and Nokia’s Symbian, however, those numbers drop to just 8 percent and 9 percent, respectively.

There's a mild chance that Sony Ericsson CEO Hideki Komiyama has been hitting the sauce just a wee bit too hard of late, but we're guessing it's mostly just an inability to comprehend his own company's situation. As SE pushes out awful report after awful report, the company's head honcho has just revealed that it'll be some time yet before it hops on the Android bandwagon -- as if it really has time on its side. In an interview with Reuters, he stated: "[Going Android] does require a lot of evaluation, as well as a lot of testing, a lot of acceptance from a consumer viewpoint, and there is still some time to go." He did confess that "looking ahead," he viewed it as an "important operating system," but he definitely gave no indication that we'd see an Android-based SE handset in the near future. Which is strange, really, considering that we'd already heard it would produce one during this calender year.

So I was thrilled when I was able to view my Google Calendar on my phone. Being able to check the week's schedule is great. However, I've been missing a way to respond to invitations and change my attendance status on the go. And I haven't been the only one. The number one idea on Google Product Ideas was the ability to edit Google Calendar on mobile devices.
That just became possible with the new mobile web version of Google Calendar, available on iPhone and Android-powered devices. “Even the latest iteration of S60 (which has been under constant development for eons) doesn’t do some of the things we saw in the Android demo. While Symbian and Nokia are probably hard at work developing touch-capable software and phones, Google already has done it, to a certain extent. Nokia announced plans today to transform the Symbian mobile phone operating system into an open source platform. Nokia, which already owns roughly half of all shares of Symbian, is in the process of obtaining the other half from various holders for €264 million. The company has partnered with several other major handset makers to launch the new nonprofit Symbian Foundation, which will facilitate the liberation of the platform.

Several core Symbian Foundation members are contributing their own Symbian-based technologies so that the best third-party enhancements can be converged into a single unified stack. This will include Nokia's own S60 platform, the UIQ graphical user interface layer which is jointly owned by Sony Ericsson and Motorola, and NTT DoCoMo's MOAP. These components will be available soon under a royalty-free license to all members of the foundation. Within two years, the platform will be completely open source and will be distributed under the Eclipse Public License (EPL), a moderately permissive license that requires downstream patent grants.

"Establishing the Foundation is one of the biggest contributions to an open community ever made," said Nokia CEO Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo in a statement. "Nokia is a strong supporter of open platforms and technologies as they give the freedom to build, maintain and evolve applications and services across device segments and offer by far the largest ecosystem, enabling rapid innovation. Today's announcement is a major milestone in our devices software strategy."

Symbian is currently the most widely-used smartphone platform, but its popularity and relevance have been declining as handset makers moved towards other platforms, including Windows Mobile and Apple's iPhone, as well as Linux and other open source alternatives that reduce licensing costs and offer more flexibility. The Symbian's business model and development strategy were far out of step with the direction in which the industry was collectively moving. Nokia's efforts to completely open the platform will change that and make Symbian a much stronger contender in the next-generation mobile space.

Visa today announced a variety of mobile banking tests for U.S. customers.Â The tests focus on mobile payments and money transfer, which are already available in many other countries, particularly in Eastern Asia.
The most significant test involves contactless payments using the Nokia 6212 Classic phone, expected to ship next month.Â The phone includes a near-field communications chip, which Visaâ€™s software will use to communicate with its bank partners.
In addition to actually paying for retail purchases, customers could use the phone to transfer funds and receive notifications of special offers and account activity, officials said.
Visa also announced a money transfer experiment with U.S. Bank.Â That test is scheduled to begin by the end of this year.Â Customers will access their accounts through mobile Web browsers.Â A second phase will expand the system to overseas accounts in the first half of next year.
For now, the multitude of tests will continue, as has been the case for several years.Â Visa cited Australia, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan and the United Kingdom as locations where it already performs tests similar to those announced today.
Visa did announce plans for a â€œbroadly availableâ€ mobile payment services, however, initially itâ€™s only for customers of Google Android phones who also happen to be Chase bank customers.Â Users will be able to receive notifications about transaction activity, obtain offers from merchants, find those merchants on a map and find bank machines.

Every pair of nonidentical files will translate into a completely different hash value, even if the two files differ only by a single bit. Using today's technology, it is not possible to discover a pair of files that translate to the same hash value.

Repeatability

Each time a particular file is hashed using the same algorithm, the exact same hash value will be produced.

Irreversibility

All hashing algorithms are one-way. Given a checksum value, it is infeasible to discover the password. In fact, none of the properties of the original message can be determined given the checksum value alone.

Professor Ronald L. Rivest (born 1947, Schenectady, New York) is a cryptographer, and is the Viterbi Professor of Computer Science at MIT's Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. He is most celebrated for his work on public-key encryption with Len Adleman and Adi Shamir, specifically the RSA algorithm, for which they won the 2002 ACM Turing Award.
